Bob Dylan anunciou o lançamento de um novo box set, “The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1976 Live Recordings”, que chegará ao público em 6 de novembro. A pré-venda já está disponível aqui.
Com quase 40 discos, o conjunto documenta a segunda parte da histórica turnê Rolling Thunder Revue de Dylan, que começou em 18 de abril de 1976 em Lakeland, Flórida, e terminou em Salt Lake City em 25 de maio de 1976. De acordo com um comunicado de imprensa, “quase todos” os 27 shows desse segmento estão representados nas 371 faixas “nunca antes ouvidas”.
A banda de Dylan na época incluía o baixista Rob Stoner, a violinista Scarlet Rivera, o baterista Howie Wyeth e os guitarristas Mick Ronson (do Spiders from Mars de David Bowie), Steven Soles, David Mansfield e T Bone Burnett.
Burnett relembrou: “A Rolling Thunder Revue foi a primeira turnê nacional de punk rock. Abriu uma porta que levou a uma explosão furiosa de novas músicas — The Clash, Elvis Costello, Ramones, Sex Pistols e assim por diante. Dylan fez isso de novo. Ele é bom em atravessar portas que ninguém mais sequer vê, portas que outros pensam que são paredes.”
Antes do lançamento completo, uma versão ao vivo de “Going, Going, Gone”, gravada no Tarrant County Convention Center Arena em Fort Worth, Texas, em 16 de maio de 1976, foi divulgada.
