O Rainbow está lançando um box set de ‘The Temple of the King’ que reúne nove CDs cobrindo o período 1975-1976 da banda comandada por Ritchie Blackmore, com novos masters, shows completos na Alemanha e faixas raras em CD pela primeira vez.
Intitulado “The Temple of the King (1975-1976)”, o conjunto abre a série de antologias dedicadas ao guitarrista e chega em embalagem de 7″ acompanhada de livreto de 24 páginas com fotos, memorabilia e textos do jornalista Rich Davenport. A masterização ficou a cargo de Andy Pearce e Matt Wortham.
O primeiro disco apresenta o álbum de estreia “Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow”. Na sequência, “Rising” aparece integralmente, seguido de três concertos gravados em Colônia, Düsseldorf e Nuremberg entre 25 e 28 de setembro de 1976, até então disponíveis apenas no mercado japonês. Essas apresentações trazem versões expandidas de “Kill the King”, “Stargazer” e o cover de “Mistreated”, herdado dos tempos de Deep Purple.
Os dois últimos CDs concentram ensaios de estúdio para a turnê mundial de 1976, edições de singles em mono e estéreo e mixes brutos de faixas como “Tarot Woman” e “A Light in the Black”. Entre as curiosidades, está uma mixagem boliviana em mono de “The Temple of the King”.
Formado em 1975, o Rainbow nasceu como projeto solo de Blackmore logo após sua saída do Deep Purple. Com Ronnie James Dio nos vocais, Jimmy Bain no baixo, Tony Carey nos teclados e Cozy Powell na bateria, o grupo uniu rock pesado a passagens de música clássica e rapidamente ganhou espaço nas paradas britânicas e norte-americanas. O novo Rainbow box set oferece um panorama detalhado dessa fase inaugural, considerada por muitos fãs a mais influente da carreira do quinteto.
